SCUBA DIVING
Grand Turk is consistently ranked among the top scuba diving destinations in the world, and the water surrounding the island is as extraordinary as the diving itself — crystalline, warm, and an almost unreal shade of turquoise that deepens to dark blue just a few hundred yards from shore, where the wall drops away into the depths.
Diving here suits every level, from first-time divers to seasoned experts. The conditions are exceptional: calm sites with little to no current, visibility averaging 100 feet, and water temperatures ranging from 82–84°F in summer to 74–78°F in winter. Most dive sites are located on the west side of the island and are only minutes from the beach by dive boat.
A typical dive begins in just 30 feet of water, where the reef slopes gently to around 40 feet before opening onto a breathtaking wall that plunges into the deep. Local dive operators guide groups and individuals, and every diver can explore the wall at their own comfort level before a relaxed return to the boat over shallow reefs teeming with life.
The "McDonald's" dive site — located approximately 800 meters offshore, directly in front of Villa Azul — was awarded Best Wall Dive in the Caribbean by Scuba Diving magazine. It is, quite simply, one of the finest dives you will ever take.
